RCSEE Representatives in Business Visit to Germany
As a part of their multiple-day visit to Germany in the beginning of March, representatives of our Cluster, Dragoljub Rajić and Milan Vučković, visited German company Berghof Automation GmbH, whose representative participated in Regional railway conference organized in 2015.
Our representatives were welcomed by Mr. Dietmar Sieland, Branch manager of Berghof in Mühlhausen and Mr. Gunar Boegner, Sales Director.
Representatives of Berghof Automation kindly provided an opportunity for our representatives to visit facilities of some companies of German Railways (DB) with whom Berghof has successfully cooperated for a number of years. For some time now, DB uses several of Berghof’s solutions in railway industry which provide this large system with increased security, efficiency, cost reduction and organization of work process.
Therefore, Dragoljub Rajić and Milan Vučković had an opportunity to see how indermodal cargo terminal in Grossbeeren (owned by DUSS mbH company, a art of DB) operates in practice, which, in fact, serves as a gateway for cargo transport toward Berlin and Eastern Europe. On the same day, another DUSS intermodal terminal was visited in the vicinity of Leipzig in Sachsen region.
On the following day, our representatives visited a rolling stock maintenance facility of DB in Frankfur am Main.
After that, the hosts from Berghof organized a visit to a large and modern facility for maintenance of locomotives in Dessau, in the eastern part of Germany.
Filled with favorable impressions from the visit, our representatives were delighted with the possibility of getting acquainted with modern technologies and IT solutions that are used in the locations they visited.
The visit to mentioned destinations was useful in multiple ways, considering that the railway system in the region is facing the years of revitalization and reconstruction in order for our national and private companies to catch up to the organizational and technological progress which is far beyond the current capabilities.
Additionally, this was a possibility for networking with important German companies who showed an interest, not only in the activities of our cluster, but also a concrete networking with our members.
